About Anakita Escalante

Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I spent much of my childhood outdoors, happiest surrounded by animals and nature. That love has stayed with me through years of hiking, travelling and seeking out wild and beautiful places.

Nature brings me an incredible sense of peace and joy, and it is this feeling that I hope to capture through my paintings.

I am especially drawn to the Australian landscape and the way light can transform a place—the warmth of sunlight across the land, the power of crashing waves, the majesty of mountains and the strength of towering cliff faces. Animals hold an equally special place in my heart, and their character and beauty continue to inspire much of my work.

With over 20 years of artistic practice, I have studied Visual Arts and Design (Certificate IV) and Fine Arts (Diploma), and was nominated for Best Student in NSW. My work has been exhibited and represented through galleries, and has received recognition including a People’s Choice Award and the Loddon Landscape Award for Best Landscape at the Eucy Art Show, judged by renowned Australian watercolour artist Terry Jarvis. I am also represented by Eat.Drink.Art at Alium Fine Dining Restaurant.

While Australian landscapes and wildlife are at the heart of much of my work, I simply love painting the natural world. Through each piece, I hope to capture its light, warmth, beauty and strength—and share a little of the peace and joy that nature has always given me.
